This article by Alex Day not only lists these bugs but tell you how to correct the issues they cover.
Alex says he does a lot of YouTube videos on his own channel. He has been using iMovie to create those videos until recently.
ONE: Audio fades. … Every time you drag a clip from an iMovie event into the timeline, it adds a 15-frame audio fade to the start and the end. So every cut has a tiny audio dip… Depending on the amount of cuts you do in a video, you could shorten your video by 15-to-30 seconds just by removing the fades and tightening up those transitions.
TWO: Text fades. Same as above, but this one applies to titles, and is a lot more noticeable. …
THREE: Title fonts. It’s always glaringly obvious when people are using iMovie cos there’s that nasty looking default font they use, called Gill Sans Bold. Don’t use it….
FOUR: The Ken Burns effect. Whenever you drag a photo into the timeline, it does that stupid zoom-in thing…. (BTW – Alex says he doesn’t know who Ken Burns is. Perhaps he should study other techniques.)
FIVE: Insufficient features. …
How to fix it: Switch to Final Cut Pro X. …
Well, he really only offers a fix for 4 of the five unless you are willing to spend the money for Final Cut Pro X. Which would have meant a pretty short article if he had said that at the beginning.
