A Better Way To Take Notes?

PAD Software is calling their new “Scrawl,” a beautiful yet simple note-taking app for OS X Leopard, Snow Leopard, and Lion. Scrawl is easy to access, and it sits right in the menu bar. It has a QuickLook-like window based off of Snow Leopard, auto save (in OS X Snow Leopard and Leopard as well, not Lion required), and it is extremely customizable.

Scrawl is one of the world’s most simple and beautiful note-taking app ever created. The interface is important for any app, and Scrawl takes it to the next level. Not only is it easy to access and use, but it also looks extremely slick and clean – something many note taking apps lack. Scrawl can handle an unlimited amount of notes as well. But what is the point if you cannot find them? Scrawl can search not only the title of each note, but also the note’s content. This can be very useful if you didn’t include some information in the note’s title.

“I am proud of what our team has come up with,” said Paul Dunahoo, the manager of PAD Software and primary developer of Scrawl, “The interface is truly something that you will not find in any other Mac app. Also, auto save was something we really wanted in Scrawl, and not just in OS X Lion.”

A Few of Scrawl’s Features:

  • Can auto save notes on Leopard, Snow Leopard, and Lion
  • Searches the each note’s content, as well as the title
  • Sits in the menubar for easy access
  • Includes a beautiful interface based off of Snow Leopard’s QuickLook
  • Right-click on the menubar icon to view all of the app’s settings
  • Change the size and texture of the window easily in the Preferences
  • Optionally open at login

Scrawl has been PAD Software’s largest project yet, and the results prove it. It is the result of months of hard work by Paul Dunahoo, the developer of the app and designer, and many beta testers.

System Requirements: * OS X Leopard 10.5 or later * Intel Mac * 0.5 MB

Scrawl 1.0 is only $0.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies) and available worldwide exclusively through the Mac App Store in the Productivity category.
