I have long know about a Law and a Medical website for Macintosh users in those professions. Now I have found a couple of new ones.
MacResearch.org is about using Macs in Research. Of course, research is done in a number of fields. The main page here has its first story as Mac In Chemistry has moved. Followed by Protein Ribbon Models in WebGL, Review of FieldAlign, Medical imaging for iPhone and iPad, A review of FieldView, ChemDoodle Web Components Updated, Data Analysis Tools and more. (The ones I listed were all from this year. Most of those in January and February, so this site doesn’t appear to get updated a lot.
See the site at: http://www.macresearch.org
The Macs in Chemistry is at: http://www.macresearch.org
The purpose of Macs in Chemistry is stated as “This site is intended to provide a resource for chemists using Apple Macintosh computers. The links in the side-bar give access to a variety of resources you will find valuable.”
The side bar provides an alphabetical index to Mac OS X Applications as well as links to MacChemBlog, iBabel, Software Reviews, Reference Management, Data Analysis Tools, Safari Extenstions, Spectroscopy, Mobile Science, Useful LInks and Quick Links.
In a sense, these are Macintosh user groups for specific professions. Some of the links are applicable to other disciplines as well. Check them out if you fall into those categories.
