I remember several years ago, when an American pilot who was a member of our user group told me of a security device he used when going through airport security. It was a device that would alert him if he got more than a certain distance from his PowerBook. I believe that distance was 30 feet.
Now Kensington is marketing a similar device for your iPhone. It consists of a case for the phone and a key fob for the alert to tell you the distance. That tether will keep you from leaving your phone behind. An app on the phone will lock the phone when the alert goes off. The app will also help you find the key fob as well.
