StumbleUpon!

I have used StumbleUpon as a FireFox plug-in for a number of years to find web sites that I can report on here. For some reason, they have never produced a similar plug-in for Safari. They do have a web site that acts similar to the plug-in, but it still isn’t the same. Now they have an iOS app that will work with both the iPad and the iPhone.

According the listing in the app store, “StumbleUpon is a discovery engine that finds the best of everything that is out there on the web, recommended just for you. With a touch of the Stumble button, or swipe of the iPad screen, you’ll discover photos, videos and web pages recommended by friends and people sharing your interests. StumbleUpon learns what you like, so you only see what’s interesting to you from across the web.

With the iPad and iPhone apps, you can sit back and discover web pages wherever you are. See what others have liked as you explore web pages in any of your interests or top recommendations in Photos, Videos and News. Connect with friends by being the first to share content you like via email, StumbleUpon, Facebook or Twitter.”

They also have a Facebook presence and you can get more details there. https://www.facebook.com/StumbleUpon

The way it works is that you select topics you have an interest in. Then as you visit web sites that are suggested by other people in that topic you vote yeah or no by selecting thumb up or thumb down. Then the selections should get better as you go on.
