40 Mac apps for web design

Dustin Betonio has posted an article on the Tripwire magazine website called “40 Best and free useful Mac applications for Web Designers.” Tripwire is a magazine aimed at web developers.

Here are a few of them

1. Anxiety – A super-lightweight To-do list application for Mac OS X Leopard that synchronizes with iCal and Mail.

2. iTerm2 – Areplacement for Terminal and the successor to iTerm. It works on Macs with Leopard or Snow Leopard.

3. Flaex – Compiled Flash files (.SWF) are normally locked and resources used inside can not be reached however this application is for extracting images, sounds, videos, etc… from any .SWF file

4. WidSense – A small widget for the Dashboard in Mac OS. The widget connects automatically to your Adsense account and gets the last update of your CSV file.

8. VirtualBox – A powerful x86 and AMD64/Intel64 virtualization product for enterprise as well as home use.

9. LittleIpsum – A lorem ipsum generator which can create words, sentences or paragraphs and sits in the menu bar for quick access.

15. Blender – Free open source 3D content creation suite, available for all major operating systems under the GNU General Public License.

16. Pixen – A Mac OS X pixel editor that has a Photoshop-like interface and pretty lightweight.It has real time tiled editing and powerful palette control. Also, different tools can be assigned to left and right mouse control for a faster usage.

20. Paintbrush – A simple paint program for Mac OS X, reminiscent of Microsoft Paint and Apple’s own now-defunct MacPaint.

22. Cyberduck – Enables management of files in almost any remote locations including FTP, SFTP, WebDAV, Cloud Files, Amazon S3, Windows Azure and even Google Docs.

23. Chatbox – A free app for the popular file storage/sharing solution Dropbox for commenting and/or discussing about files.
