iMedicalApps

I remember going to a Boston Computer Society Fair in the mid ’80s where we had setup a room for medical software vendors to talk to doctors. The big thing there was that the vendors almost never got to spend more than 15 minutes with the doctors at any other location, but at the fair they got to spend hours finding out how doctors thought the software could b e improved. Now the software is moving to iOS devices, especially the iPad.

This web site is dedicated to iOS apps and how they affect the medical profession. For example, the lead story at the time I write this on May 28th is Veterans Administration hospitals CIO says VA must become “iPad friendly.” Writen by Felasfa Wodajo, MD, it says that “In a nod to the reality of rapid physician adoption of tablets and smartphones, the CIO of the VA system recently stated that the VA must find a way to accommodate iPads at a conference on federal information technology.” That in turn is quoted from an article published at nextgov.com.

The site contains reviews of apps that would be appropriate for medical professionals, but also includes some that us consumers can put to good use.
