The Ocala Macintosh User Group is located in the rolling hills horse country of Ocala, Florida, about 75 miles northwest of Orlando. They have a very active MUG consisting of about 90 members, a mix of active retired persons, professionals and hobbyists.

OMUG’s philosophy is “Mac Users Helping Mac Users”. Most of our members originally hailed from other states and have come to North Central Florida to enjoy the milder winters and a different lifestyle. Member’s Mac experience varies from novice Macintosh users, to new-to-the-Mac users, to the more experienced and computing professionals.
The informative monthly meetings and demos are open to anyone as a “guest” and most “guest” members quickly see the advantages of membership and join for a nominal fee. The goal is to cover all Mac-related subjects, tech/maintenance issues and software programs. Members are kept up-to-the-minute by an outstanding website and an information packed monthly newsletter. Members also receive training materials, freeware/shareware and tutorials on CDs and soon on individual flash drives that can receive the latest regular updates via download from the club website. Their membership year runs from May through April of the following year.
Each monthly meeting features a 50/50 raffle for cash awards and prizes such as software, instructional books, hardware and Mac accessory items, gift cards and more.
