This article at AppCulture.net is about how to fill up the area of the menubar next to the date and clock in the upper right corner of the screen with useful or at least interesting items.
The author shows a screen shot of his menubar. He lists the menu items as: “From right to left, MenuCalendarClock for iCal, Fuzzyclock, the Apple system utilities (Battery monitor, Wireless Signal, Time Machine, MobileMe Sync then Caffeine, Evernote, Blast!, Dropbox and Synergy.
The first one the author gives more detail on is Fuzzyclock. It says things like “threeish” or “almost one”. This is the one that I say is interesting, not necessarily more useful than the clock that is already there. I also wonder how reliable is since its home page says that it has been tested with Tiger and hasn’t been updated since 2007.
Next Caffeine: Keeps your Mac’s display lit. The screen won’t dim.
Then MenuCalendarClock: Lets you see your calendar at a glance!
Evernote: One of the first information manager apps.
Dropbox: Online Storage Done Right
Blast: Keeps track of the files you use on your Mac and presents them to you in an attempt to make your life easier.
Backup & Sync Services: Keep Time Machine and MobileMe in the menubar.
Synergy: iTunes controller
Of course, there are more details and links to the apps. Surely will soon have comments from readers.
