Sorry, folks. Your Christmas hopes have been dashed … the four-inch plastic action figure of Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs will not be on the market. iPhone maker’s law firm has sent a cease-and-desist letter to MIC Gadget that created the figure.
The toy featured the CEO’s trademark black turtleneck, blue jeans, rimless glasses, and New Balance sneakers. The figure also holds a tiny iPhone in its left hand. China-based MIC Gadget has already sold out 300 figurines, each costing $80.

Apple Rejecting Single-Station Radio iPhone Apps
Apparently Apple’s approval system for iPhone applications likens single-station radio programs to fart apps, now. Developer DJBApps had attempted to submit 10 apps to the App Store and had them all rejected, being cited secion 2.20 of the developer agreement: ‘Developers ‘spamming’ the App Store with many versions of similar apps will be removed from the iOS Developer Program.’
Even an appeal directly to His Steveness received a typically-terse ‘Sorry, we’ve made our decision.’ If they had put all of the stations into the same app, the situation would have been a little different.

Apple Bans Android Magazine App From iPhone App Store
Apple’s famously ridiculous App Store approval process, which sees nothing wrong with hate mongering but has a problem with naughty words in the dictionary strikes another blow for completely pointless and random displays of power.
Case in point, Danish publisher’s Mediaworld magazine app not getting through the approval process, the main reason cited being that Android Magasinet, the app in question, covers Android exclusively.

Verizon iPhone Will Help Apple Compete
It is predicted that Apple will dominate the market of smartphones in 2011 by introducing a new version of iPhone which will run on the famous Verizon Wireless.
Apple will mass produce the touch screen iPhones in the end of 2010 and release the iPhones in the start of 2011. These phones will use Verizon Wireless technology Verizon is currently performing maintenance on its network to manage the heavy data loads by iPhone users.

Apple snuck in a nice bonus in the iOS 4.2 update: now anyone can use the “Find My iPhone” feature without paying for a MobileMe account.
Find My iPhone, allows you to view the location of any iOS device from the iPad, iPod Touch, or iPhone. If you have a MobileMe account, you can also use the web-based locator. The app lets you send a message to the device, so if anyone finds it, you can tell them how to get in touch with you.

Sony Reader Android, iPhone App Coming
Sony will unveil an e-book store for Android devices and the iPhone in December, according to a note on the company’s Web site.
“Get bestsellers and new releases from the Reader Store,” Sony said. “Access books purchased at Reader Store on your Reader, PC, iPhone, or Android phone. Make bookmarks, notes, and highlights, and adjust font size as you read.”

Q&A: Make the iPhone Screen Stop Spinning
QUESTION: I have a new iPhone, which I love, but the screen keeps rotating into the horizontal view if I’m laying down and trying to read. Is there a way to make the screen stop automatically flipping around?
ANSWER: You can lock the iPhone 4 screen orientation on the to the vertical ‘portrait mode’ to keep it from changing. To do so, double-click the iPhone’s Home button to open up the bottom panel of apps.
