Congressmen: Apple why the Privacy Policy Changes???

Concerns over reports suggesting Apple is collecting and sharing geo-location data of iPhone and iPad users prompted the request sent to Steve Jobs.
      Reps. Edward J. Markey and Joe Barton, co-chairmen of the House Bi-Partisan Privacy Caucus, have asked Apple for an explanation of recent changes in the company’s privacy policy.

Apple and AT&T hit with class-action lawsuit

Three customers in San Jose, California have filed a class-action lawsuit against Apple and AT&T through the United States District Court in San Jose, California, The New York Times is reporting.
      According to the suit, cutomers are upset that the unlimited 3G data plans were removed after they purchased the iPad.

Apple iPad breaks three million sales in just 80 days

Here’s a piece of technology-related ‘news’ likely to surprise absolutely no one: the Apple iPad is selling like touch-screen hot cakes at a shiver-infested school fete in December.
      Moreover, it has emerged this week that Cupertino-based Apple has sold a staggering three million units of its tablet computer in the 80 days since it first launched in the U.S. market.

“Do I really need one, you ask? Who cares!”

Nokia Tablet Set for Apple iPad Clash

Confirming what TheStreet first reported in April, DigiTimes reports that Nokia has produced about 100 tablet prototypes for developers in the hopes of having an iPad-like touchscreen device ready for sale this fall.
      Apple’s iPad got off to a huge start with more than 2 million units sold.

Farewell Once More, Sweet Unlimited 3G for the iPad

Remember when AT&T announced its ridiculous (or ridiculously awesome, depending on whom you ask) new data plans? The one where unlimited data would forever be gone?
      Yeah, well the unlimited option finally disappeared from the Apple iPad 3G today and we shed a single tear. However, for those who purchased the iPad prior to June 7, when the new data plans took effect, the unlimited data plan will be grandfathered into their plans when they receive their tablet computers if they haven’t already.

How Microsoft foresaw — and still missed–the iPad

The technology icon stands before a crowd, holding in his hands a prototype that embodies his vision for the future of computing. It’s a touch-screen tablet that is thinner than a magazine, has all-day battery life, and sells for less than $800.
      A year later, Microsoft detailed Project Origami, an effort to commercialize Gates’ vision by adding a touch interface on top of Windows XP. Yet, the technology still hadn’t caught up with the vision.

New Yorker iPad magazine, based on Adobe

The New Yorker has confirmed these days that it is currently working on an iPad magazine application. It seems that the magazine will use Adobe’s Digital Magazine platform, the same that has been used for the first application for Wired’s edition
      The anonymous contact said that editors usually want to control their own product making.

Dr. Dobb’s: iPad, Android Tablets Rule

According to a new survey of the mobile landscape by Appcelerator, developers of mobile apps favor Apple’s iPad for the time being, but are have their eyes on Android and the opportunity it provides for cross-platform development in the long term.
      According to the 2,733 developers who responded, developers favor Apple against other platforms for its app store, market for consumer and business apps, devices, and near-term outlook.
