This article starts out with “Although Mail sounds like a no frills program for email, it doesn’t mean that OS X users are missing out on anything.” I don’t know where he gets the idea that Mail is “no frills.” He does make up for it later.
His tips:
01. Block a sender using OS X Mail.
02. Keep your trash empty automatically. You’ll save disk space and calm your nerves too.
03. Remove addresses from auto complete.
04. Advanced, combined searches.
05. Check your Yahoo! Mail with OS X Mail. (Or Gmail or AOL etc.)
06. Signature management – change the signature depending on which account you were using to send mail.
07. Save your common searches to a smart folder, get it done faster next time.
08. Read receipts – Have a confirmation email sent to your Inbox as soon as a message you sent is read.
09. Tell Mail where to store attachments.
10. Inline images – change Mail so that it sends the email with the images inline.
