The original article title included the iPhone, I guess you could reduce your bill to the minimum dictated by AT&T, but I really think this applies more to other phone bills.
I have used T-Mobile’s Talk Forever service for about 3 years now. For $10 a month you use your broadband to get unlimited calls. Of course, there are other VoIP alternatives as well.
This article mostly talks about using various features of Skype.
In fact, his first step is to get Skype for your domestic calls.
He then suggests you buy some credit. With that you can get Wi-Fi via Skype, which gives you access to Wi-Fi. It can also be used to change your outbound Skype caller ID to that of your cell phone number.
Then get the Skype app for your iPhone.
He continues on to talk about international calls which I don’t do. (You can also use Google Voice to reduce costs as well.)
