I used to frequent this web site a lot when I was a Research Librarian. The author really helps you to understand all the search engines. While it is still called ResearchBuzz, the new sub title is: “News about search engines, databases, and other information collections.”
For example one recent article talks about Google’s new URL shortener. I wouldn’t know that they had one except for this article.
She says the new service is called Goo.gl and is available at http://goo.gl/.
Currently however, it is limited to users of Google Toolbar and Feedburner. Meanwhile the author recommends using http://bit.ly/.
