ClamXav is a free virus checker for Mac OS X. It uses the ClamAV open source antivirus engine as a back end.
It is also now 5 years old. Of course, it really isn’t needed today on a Mac. But who knows what tomorrow will bring. Also if you share files with other platforms, it would be polite not to forward infected ones.
