Major clamp-down on illegal online drug sites … IF YOU ARE NOT PART OF THE SOLUTION, then you are part of the problem!
Here’s the good news:
We are seeing the beginning of a new chapter in Internet compliance that is the result of months of work. Codenamed Operation Pangea II: sweeps, seizures, raids, as well as the termination of hundreds of core transaction websites have occurred in 26 countries. Illegal web pharmacies advertised in spam, dealing in counterfeit versions of drugs that harm consumers have been terminated in the real world as well as the virtual. As part of this activity, Registrars and ISPs have been warned about the illegal nature of these businesses.

Knujon’s Garth Bruen says:
Spam is not about who sent it, it’s about who benefits from it. For a moment forget everything you know about filters, zombie PCs, firewalls, spoofing, viruses, beisyan algorithms, header forgery, botnets, or blacklists. These are all methods for sending spam or preventing spam delivery. None of these explain why spam is sent and for far too long all the attention has been paid to the effects and not the driving force. Under the endless onslaught of junk mail it is easy to feel that the goal of the game is send spam and annoy us all. But this isn’t the goal. The goal of spam is a transaction. Motivation not method.

Get a SpamCop account — rather than using those “free” email services like Hotmail, Gmail or Yahoo. They only bring you more spam, but do nothing about it. A SpamCop account costs less than 9-cents a day, yet filters your spam, then makes it easy to report it to the SpamCop. Not only does this add to the “Real Black Hole” spam filters, but also sends a report and complaint to the admins of the service providers where the spam originated, as well as the ISP where the spamvertised web site is located!
