Kiss your DVD … goodbye

In an article with the above title, Dwight Silverman shows that Apple is not the only one looking at the possibilities of selling media that can be played on any of your devices.

Mr. Silverman says: “Realizing that delivering movies on physical media is about to become a thing of the past, the company is planning a service that would stream high-quality movies over the Internet.”

As people commented on the Apple story, why would the cable companies allow us to use their pipes to deliver competitive services.  Good question.  Maybe “Net Neutrality” will keep it going.  But it will probably be sometime before the dust settles.
