This is quite a web site. It is a great idea. Wish I had thought of it first. What if you need an alternative to Office, Photoshop, etc.
This site lists alternative applications for Macintosh, Windows, Linux and online applications. It also has alternatives to Mobile applications. Of course, at this point I would expect that the mobile apps are primarily iPhone apps. But there are some listed for Windows Mobile, Blackberry, Android and the Symbian S60.

Adobe Fireworks – Rapidly prototype websites and application interfaces.
Gimpshop – GIMPshop is essentially Gimp with some cosmetic changes.
Paint Shop Pro – Commercial by Corel- Combines ease of use with full professional power.
Adobe Photoshop Elements – Adobe Photoshop Elements combines power and simplicity .
Artweaver – A simple Freeware program for creative painting, i.e.
Pixel – Commercial – An RGB, CMYK and HDR image editing, photo retouching, graphics manipulating and animation program.
There are more, but you get the idea. Most of the list above are available for Mac and some for Linux.
