VLC 1.0

I had given up hope that VLC would ever get out of beta. But it has and TidBITS pointed me to the 1.0 version.

Adam of course, lists important updates in his weekly TidBITS newsletter. “In the one for last week, he said: ‘VLC 1.0 from VideoLAN is the first official release of the open-source multimedia framework and player that offers wide support for various video types. The player also features live recording capabilities, frame by frame support, and full-screen video scaling.”

Available for a number of platforms, including Windows, Macintosh, Linux and BeOS.
