MacValley

MacValley is an Apple registered Macintosh Users Group, dedicated to bringing MacUsers the latest information on Macintosh hardware, software, and Mac related subjects. Guests and visitors receive a warm welcome, and are encouraged to participate fully at any and all of our meetings and classes.

President Cristael Bengtson, and dedicated members like Arnold Woodworth help make sure MacValley general meetings are outstanding! Meetings include presentations and Q&A’s, Prize drawings of the latest hardware and software goodies and great downloadables for our lucky winners; and even Mac Classes for beginners or anyone who has questions about their Macs.

How good are they?

We can confidently say they are award winners! In 1999, MacValley won the User Group Academy “Special Judges Citation” for their web site, and Best UG Newsletter – Runner-Up. for their wonderful “Valley Voice” newsletter. You can see for yourself by visiting the The Mac Valley Voice online.

Then at MacWorld 2000, UGN’s Fred Showker and Apple’s Steve Wozniak presented MacValley’s Daphne Gruberman with a UG Academy Grant for MacValley’s community help project : Individualized Education Program Database for the Individualized Education Program (IEP) within the Los Angeles City Unified School District. This grant allowed the group to purchase and build a Mac lab, providing aid for 320 students at the Kittridge Street Elementary School with specific learning disabilities.

That year, Fred and the Woz presented the User Group Academy Awards & Grants, to user groups totaling $35,000.00!
