UGN Salutes Big Bear Mac

If you’d like to mix in a little fishing or outdoor adventure with your Mac experience — or perhaps your ski vacation next winter, you’ll want to plan your trip around a meeting with the Big Bear Mac User Group, Big Bear Lake, California! You won’t be disappointed!

MUG meetings close to Heaven!

Imagine going to your MUG meeting at the Knickerbocker Mansion & Country Inn at Big Bear Lake! Or having this image be part of the experience…

Big Bear Lake

Big Bear Lake, Big Bear City, Fawnskin and Sugarloaf are small mountain communities located at nearly 7,000 feet in the San Bernardino Mountains of Southern California. That’s where you’ll find the The Big Bear Mac User Group!

BBMUG was formed in June 2006 by a very small and informal bunch of people who thought they were the only Mac users on the mountain. They ran a tiny ad announcing the Group in our local newsweekly and discovered they weren’t alone by a long shot!

BBMUG has grown and been successfully holding meetings every month, except when deterred by winter weather. (Did we mention, in addition to a beautiful alpine lake, this valley also includes the Snow Summit and Bear Mountain ski resorts!)

The Big Bear Mac User GroupBBMUG meets each month at the Big Bear Discovery Center, where officer Jack Williams sees to it that meetings are simple, fun, open to all and free! So if you have a Mac, a PC or are just curious about all things Apple, you’ll want to discover this group for sure.

Jack writes:

“As we often see new faces, we start with brief first-name introductions to break the ice, review the latest Apple/Mac news, followed by a Q&A session, the Program and a closing Q&A session. All in all, it’s quite civilized and very straight forward. “

The Big Bear Mac User Group (BBMUG)

The Big Bear Mac User Group is a Community group, open to anyone to enjoy meetings, newsletter, programs — all welcome: no dues required — serving California’s Big Bear Lake, Big Bear City, Fawnskin, Sugarloaf, Lake Arrowhead, Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, Indian Wells and everyone in these parts!
