Documents to Go for the Apple iPhone

I have long been a fan of DataViz and their translators for various file formats. I used MacLink and hMacLinkPlus from version 1.0 until I switched to MacOS X. Now they make Documents to Go for the iPhone. They just announced version 1.1 just three weeks after the original launch of the product.

They say: “We promised to keep evolving Documents To Go on iPhone and we wanted to make sure you knew an update is live in the App Store – just a little more than 3 weeks after our v1.0 launch! We’re not stopping here and YES, our team is hard at work adding Excel editing.”

Reasons to upgrade if you already have the first version and additional reasons to start with the application.

1) iPhone OS 3.0 Cut, Copy, Paste
You can now cut, copy and paste between Documents To Go v.1.1 and ANY APPS supporting the OS v3.0 Cut, Copy, Paste. For users who remain on OS v2.2 and update to Documents To Go 1.1, the software will detect the OS and use the 1.0 style of DocsToGo-only Cut, Copy, Paste.

2) Pinch Zoom in Word Files

3) Full Screen View in Word – Now editing documents is even easier (especially in landscape mode) thanks to the ability to hide the title bar and the toolbar for more screen real estate.

4) Sending Files via Email (in non-Microsoft Exchange Attachment version only)
For iPhone OS 3.0 devices, you can now share documents you are working on by sending them as attachments using your existing email accounts like Gmail, Yahoo, MobileMe, etc. Soon to use the Microsoft Exchange Attachment version of Documents To Go soon as well.

5) Viewing iWork 09 Files – Utilizing the built-in iPhone OS Viewers.

6) Updated Desktop Sync Software – As a purchased user, if you have yet to install the unique 2-way desktop sync software, you can also go directly to: http://www.dataviz.com/iphoneinstaller
