Where Macintosh and Windows meet

This Australian article talks about the experience switching from PC to Mac. The first thing mentioned is the learning curve. For example getting used to not having a visible button on the current MacBooks. It also mentions that the Mac doesn’t have a Backspace key, just a Delete key that doesn’t work like the delete key on a PC.

Of course the Window shortcuts don’t work. Including the big one of “Control-Alt-Delete.”

They do admit: “Did we get over the differences? Mostly. Just a day after swearing at the MacBook Pro in frustration, we made peace.
Within a week, we had learned many of its new commands, learned to stack windows, and found that Alt-Tab still switched applications.”

From there they talk about subtle differences.

I think as MUG leaders, we should consider these differences with talking with switchers in our groups. That way we can help quicker.
