Google Wave

Late last month, Google introduced their new product Wave. Wave will be open source and will be a communication and collaboration tool. It really looks interesting and unfortunately we won’t be able to experience it until later in the year.

Wave was introduced at Google I/O, which is aimed at developers, similar to what Apple and Microsoft do with their developers conference. The YouTube video is below. (1 hour & 20 minutes long)

The demo starts out with a structured open email type of application. Then shows that it can become similar to an online chat when all conversationists are connected at the same. It is also possible to have a group chat and to limit conversation to only one or a few for a particular message. Additionally, it is possible to add pictures and also possible to add parts of the “wave” into a new wave aimed at different people.

It is also possible to put a wave on a web site to build your own conversations. Thus it becomes a blog.

It is also possible to edit similar to a Wiki. So stay tuned to learn more as it becomes available. You can sign up for more info at: http://wave.google.com/

I can see user groups using this for better communications between members.
