App Update is a free Dashboard Widget, (they do have a donation button on their web site) that can automatically check for updates to your installed software. It supports Apple’s software directory, MacUpdate and Version Tracker. I had really meant to go to the ACD meeting last month. I had been working Saturdays from 3 to 9 and figured I could make the trip to Richardson in the AM and still make it back to Fort Worth for my afternoon shift. Dragan Milic announced Springy 1.5.2 late last month. It is a powerful archiving utility for Mac OS X. Springy integrates seamlessly with the Finder and includes some incredibly useful features. Users have the ability to see at a glance, the contents of an archive or disk image without being forced to extract any file from it, add, and/or extract files of choice from an existing archive, as well as previewing them.
