I have long recommended Nisus Writer as an alternative to Microsoft Word on the Mac.
Last week, Nisus announced version 3.2 of Nisus Writer Express.
Nisus Software, Inc. last week announced the release of Nisus Writer Express 3.2, their affordable word processor for Mac OS X. Nisus Writer Express 3.2 adds new features such as editable document properties (author, company, copyright, etc.), additional backup options, control over smart quotes on a per-language basis, and a preference to choose the default file format for new documents.
Additionally, Nisus Writer Express updates are now managed by the Sparkle framework, and the Services menu which allows creating a new Nisus Writer Express document from selected content in another application. There is also a host of bug fixes and other enhancements.
These new features add to an already rich feature set that includes an intuitive interface, multilingual text support, easy to use style system, non-contiguous selection, full screen mode, and a native file format (RTF) that almost any word processor can read.

Nisus Writer Express 3.2 is a universal binary and requires Mac OS 10.4 (Tiger) or later.

Nisus Writer Express 3.2 is available now at thier web store for only $45.00 (USD). An upgrade from previous versions of Express is $30.00. A three license Family Pack is also available for $79.00. This release is a free update to current license holders of Nisus Writer Express 3.x.
