This web site seems to be keeping track of statistics about the iPhone applications.
For example, it has the number of applications by submission month. This started in May 2008, but the high count by month so far has been January 2009 with only 4,668
submitted.
They also have count by price running from Free (5,019) to $999 (2).
What is amazing, is the total cost if you were to purchase one of each application would be $60,377.30 at an average cost of $2.86.
