Macworld and You

Learn what Apple Pi members experienced when they attended America’s largest Apple/Macintosh convention earlier this month in San Francisco, Falls Church, VA, January 24, 9:30 a.m.

Washington Apple Pi

Hear about the new and updated non-Apple products announced at MacWorld, behind-the-scenes intrigues, and developments that did not make the nightly news.

This meeting isn’t going to be your run-of-the-mill Macworld review of formal Apple presentation content about Apple products introductions, and hottest third-party hardware and software products and services. It will be a blend of announcements and information, important and otherwise, that might make a difference to you!

Our regular Question and Answer will start the meeting followed by essential club news. Next, we take a short coffee break before the main event. We will end the general meeting with a raffle drawing for an iPod touch!

Following a half hour light food break (food and cola supplied with donations accepted to share cost), the afternoon program begins with four concurrent afternoon special interest group (SIG) sessions for members and guests. The New User/OS X-Basics SIG addresses basic how-do-I-to-do-it on a Macintosh tasks and attendee questions. iLife SIG, the second session, will focus on how-to-do-it using one or more of the five software products in Apple’s iLife suite. In the third session, Len Adler will share his genealogy experiences using Geni.com with the Genealogy SIG. The Mobility Meetup group will discuss the operation of, and applications for, the iPhone and iPod Touch handheld computers. These afternoon seesions end about 2:00 p.m.
