Boxee adds a number of formats to your viewing pleasure. Jim Rossman of the Dallas Morning News wrote this review.

Then proceeds to review Boxee as a movie player, a music player, a photo viewer and an Internet video viewer. It also has a social network of users.
Currently Boxee is available for Mac and Linux as beta. According to the comments, a Window version is in Alpha state.
Boxee is a media center front-end program, which is a fancy term for a program that plays all your entertainment choices.
Boxee will automatically scan your default movies and music and photos folders, and it’s easy to point Boxee to any external hard drive or shared directory on your computer or any other computer on your home network.
The author gives some Pros & Cons to Boxee, but the main con as far as I can see is that it requires an Intel Mac.
