Microsoft has issued updates for both 2004 and 2008 versions of Office for the Mac.
Both updates have a release date of Tuesday, December 9th, 2008.
According to the web site, Office 2008 for Mac 12.1.5 Update “contains several improvements to enhance stability, compatibility, and performance.” The Office 2004 for Mac 11.5.3 Update’s description is the same.

2004 Update. Remember, you have to have all the previous updates installed in order.
For 2008, I couldn’t get the direct link, but you can use the 2004 one above and look near the bottom of the window for the 2008 button.
