Andy Ihnatko Speaks, iPod Touch giveaway

Andy Ihnatko comes to Washington Apple Pi December 6, 2008, Luther Jackson Middle School, 3020 Gallows Road, Falls Church, VA at 9:30 a.m.!

Andy Ihnatko Andy has strong credentials as a technology journalist for the Chicago Sun-Times, author of many books, and frequently heard voice in the Apple community. Among his books are iPod Fully Loaded (initially on sale Nov 25, 2008), iPhone Fully Loaded, The Mac OS X Book, and The Mini Mac Book. He can be heard regularly on a variety of podcasts including MacBreak Weekly, TWiT, and The Apple Phone Show. He also frequently other MacNotables for podcast forums on contemporary Apple products and trends. In addition, Andy is a frequent speaker at MacWorld and he addresses numerous seminars as well as Macintosh User Groups nationwide. The man knows his Apple products and he's generous in sharing his ideas and insights.

The December 6 meeting also has a holiday theme. Apple Pi's own Steve Roberson presents his annual best gift countdown of what to give your Apple aficionado this holiday season.

Other special treats include the raffling of an iPod Touch. One ticket is $5, three tickets, $10. Come and take a chance to win this wonderful small computer. It does much of what an iPhone can do without ability to receive unwanted phone calls.

Meeting events start with audience question and answer period, club business, holiday coffee break, our featured speaker, Andy Ihnatko, followed by Steve Roberson's gift countdown and the iPod Touch raffle. Three special interest groups (SIG) will meet in early afternoon – the Basics/New To Mac SIG, learn new techniques to expand you use of the iLife suite software at the iLife SIG, and learn about macGenealogy software at the Genealogy SIG. Tentatively the Mobile Computing SIG for iPhone, iPod Touch, and MobileMe users will also meet. Topic is to-be-determined.
