New Raid System for Macs

MacObserver reported that a group of former Apple employees have set up a new company to build RAID systems for the Macintosh user.

Active Storage in Torrance, California is building and delivering XRAID, a powerful RAID 5 system especially designed for Macintosh customers with up to 16 TB of storage in a 3U case.

Alex Grossman was the former senior director of hardware servers and storage at Apple and pioneered Apple’s well received Xserve/RAID system that brought considerable pain to the competition for its combination of price, quality and storage capacity. TMO interviewed Mr. Grossman, now CEO of Active Storage, to find out more about his new company.
