iTunes 8 Adds Per-Podcast Settings
Adam Engst is reporting at TidBITS that it is now possible the ability to decided on an individual podcast basis how many episodes to keep and how long to keep them.
Until now the settings applied to all podcasts equally.
With iTunes 8, podcast settings have moved from a screen in the iTunes preferences window to a standalone dialog that you access by clicking the Settings button at the bottom of your list of subscribed podcasts (click Podcasts in iTunes's left-hand pane to view them). The Podcast Settings dialog looks almost exactly like the previous settings interface, with the addition of a pop-up menu from which you can choose any of your subscribed podcasts.
To me this is great news. Now all I would like to see is a way to turn off the automatic stopping of a podcast because iTunes believes I haven't been listening to it even though I burn them to CD and take them to my job to play as MP3 files on a PC. It even treated files that way on occasion when I listened to them on my iPod.
Remember that Adam allows MUGs to reprint his articles.
