OpenOffice

OpenOffice has been mentioned here several times as an Alternative to Microsoft's products. Currently for the Macintosh, OpenOffice comes in two flavors even if one of them is still in beta.

The first is the traditional one that requires the install of X11. OpenOffice.org X11 is a direct port of OpenOffice.org for Unix. It currently has the only officially released versions of OpenOffice.org for Mac. The Mac Port team will continue to produce regular releases of the X11 version of OpenOffice for the Mac even when the Aqua port is officially released.

The other is OpenOffice.org Aqua which aims to have the best possible integration into Mac OSX. There is no officially released version yet, but regular developer milestone releases are available. OpenOffice.org Aqua works on MacOSX 10.4 or newer versions.
BTW - this one still has support for VBA.

You can download and try either here.

You can also try out versions for other operating systems here.
