New Version of Open Office Now Coming
OpenOffice has long been a Microsoft Office alternative. Now version 3.0 beta has been released for Mac OS X.
John Martellaro, is reporting that on the Mac Observer web site that OpenOffice.org has released the first beta of OpenOffice for Mac OS X. The best thing about this version is that it doesn't need to run in the X11 environment.
Another feature is that although Microsoft has dropped VBA support and the Solver feature, OpenOffice.org has introduced limited VBA support and includes a powerful Solver component.
The main disappointment is that it is for Intel Macs only.
