PimpMySafari
This site has been around almost as long as Apple has been shipping Safari. But it appears to have reached a crossroads.
According to the web site, Jon Hicks started it as a reaction to the sites cataloguing Firefox extensions. Many excellent plugins for Safari have been developed, but because Safari doesn’t have an official ‘extension architecture’, many don’t know of these extensions.
PMS tries to only list those that are useful. He says that the 3 essential extensions are Saft, PithHelmet and Stand.
Saft however is an extension that added Tabs. Not needed for Safari 3.
PithHelmet is an extended site preferences and ad blocking plugin for Apple's Safari browser. The basic purpose of the plugin is to empower you the user to view the web as you like. You can block ad images, Flash, Shockwave or horrible midi loops - the world is your oyster. Here however, the link to PithHelmet's web site was broken.
SafariStand menu is added to the right hand side of the Safari Help menu-bar location. This drop down menu enables you to change the text encoding as well as accessing the preferences for Safari Stand.
The cross roads I referred to above was due to the desire of the webmaster to change it to more of a community based operation.
I have found the site useful in the past. So I hope they are able to get things working the way Jon wants.
