Macheads get Religion

The Reverend Doctor Bobby Newton takes his message to the Big Screen in the upcoming film, "MacHEADS" -- a documentary about fanaticism and unconditional devotion to a corporate brand.

Reverend Bobby Newton Former "Mac Genius" Tony Edwards, who portrays the fictional character, The Reverend Doctor Bobby Newton, spiritual leader and technological guide of The Church of Mac, will be featured the upcoming film, "MacHEADS".

"MacHEADS" is a documentary about fanaticism and unconditional devotion to a corporate brand. The film reveals the fascinating characters that make up the Macintosh community. Their stories take us on a journey through Mac history leading up to the Apple revolution and to its present day popularity to pose the ultimate question: Is Apple losing faith as a community and becoming just a ... brand?

"MacHEADS" is writer/director, Kobi Shely's first feature length documentary. He received a BA in Film at Hunter College New York and got his experience editing award winning shorts. He was an Assistant editor on the Turner Classic Movies documentary The John Garfield Story and directed Intervention, the short film on awards at San Francisco Brainwash Film Festival. After directing and editing numerous promos and music videos for Israeli television Kobi decided to take the independent road and founded Chimp 65 productions. Edwards' segment was recorded during a live appearance as Dr. Bobby at the MacDayLA event in Los Angeles on March 22nd, 2008. "MacHEADS" is scheduled for an international release in mid-2008.
