Mac Secrets

MacBreak Weekly, one of Leo Laporte’s many podcasts, mentioned this piece of software. Actually just called “Secrets”, is very much in Beta and is very dangerous if you don’t know what you are doing.

Basically it lets the users access preferences for the OS and many applications that aren’t available through the normal preference access.

The web site says that it accesses these items among others:

The Dock, EnergySaver, GlobalPreferences, Time Machine, MacOSX/environment, Finder, Safari, Front Row, DiskUtility, Mail, OmniFocus, iTunes and the iTunes Store.

Some of the options on the web site are “Add a secret”, “Help”, “Source Code”, “Discussion Group”, “Issue Tracker” and “PrefPane (10.5 only)”.

Please remember that this is NOT for beginners and be VERY careful with what you try.
