iPhone SDK

I just watched the iPhone SDK Special event on Apple's web site and WOW!!
Push email, support for email/calendar syncing direct from the Exchange Server to the iPhone. Additionally ...

It is apparently very easy to develop software using the SDK. AOL, Electronic Arts, SEGA and a medical software company showed what they had accomplished in just 2 weeks.

The games were cool, but I was impressed that AOL was developing AIM for the iPhone. No word on its doing voice, but even the normal text based instant messaging could eat into AT&T's revenue stream.

Apparently Apple will control the distribution of the software through the iTunes Store
and the new App Store. Apple feels that most people will download the software directly to their iPhone or iPod Touch. They will collect 30% of the selling price cover their operating costs. Of course if the selling price is Free then 30% is Free.
