Apple updates Safari browser

On March 18th, Apple patched 10 vulnerabilities in Safari for OS X and 3 in Safari for Windows. Computer World discusses the flaws and quotes a security analyst.

The update takes the browser to Version 3.1.

Of course you know that Apple has proclaimed Safari, “the world’s fastest Web browser for Mac and Windows PCs.” The majority of the 13 vulnerabilities were cross-site scripting bugs.

they quote Andrew Storms, the director of security at nCircle Network Security Inc. as saying: “Wow, Apple has to be careful, Safari may not have any more bugs — and fixes — than IE and Firefox, but unleashing a giant package like this is going to create worry among users.
“When you release a dot-release version and its comes with a mother lode of vulnerabilities, that can bring down the favorable relationship that Apple has with its users.”

It sounds to me like he is trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill.
