Text Expander
In classic Mac OS I used TypeIt4Me to handle reproduction of text that I used frequently. I ran an Excel class on AOL using it and even used it to order AOL disks for distribution to my MUG so I could get free time. It was great for filling out the form.
Smile On My Mac has a similar product called
Text Expander.TextExpander now has support for AppleScript.
With TextExpander, you save time and effort by inserting custom formatted text and images! It uses abbreviations to insert "snippets" containing frequently-used phrases and images.
Other uses included inserting standard greetings and signatures. You can even insert the current date and time in any format you prefer. Of course you can use it to correct common typos.
It can even paste in what is on the clipboard. I just used it to post the URL below.
The only problem I had was solved when I read the instructions and discovered that I had to Enable access for assistive devices in the Universal Access preferences. Once that was accomplished TextExpander started to work as advertised.
