At MacTech Labs, you can read Comprehensive Virtualization Benchmarks - Over 2500 tests performed to measure Windows on Mac solutions - Compares Boot Camp, Parallels, and VMware Fusion - Tests include baseline PC, MacBook, MacBook Pro, and Mac Pro
MacTech Labs, part of MacTech Magazine (?), today released an extensive benchmark study of virtualization solutions running on Intel-based Macs. MacTech's goal was to see how well Parallels and VMware Fusion perform compared to each other, Boot Camp and a PC.
The large suite of over 2500 tests was performed comparing the a Fujitsu 1.86 GHz machine, MacBook, MacBook Pro, and Mac Pro. The purpose of the testing and the article are to answer the questions about performance for the different virtualization solutions available, as well as the differences between Windows XP and Vista in virtual machines.
"MacTech Labs has been doing product evaluations and testing for over 20 years. Our focus is to help IT Pros not only in making tough decisions, but with real-world and how-to answers. In this case, we wanted to help people decide which solution is best for them," said Neil Ticktin, Publisher/Editor-in-Chief, MacTech Magazine. "Which virtualization solution to use is a complex decision including the decision of XP vs Vista, integration with Mac OS X, user interface, and virtual appliances."

The article is published in the February 2008 issue of the magazine available on newsstands and through subscriptions.
