10 Obscure Search Tips for Google

My nephew David sent this Lifehacker article to me about how to search with Google.

Some of these I have actually used in the past, but had forgotten.

The tips are listed in reverse order like a Letterman top 10.

10. Get the local time anywhere – What time is it in Bangkok right now? Ask Google.
Simply enter “local time Fort Worth” (no quotes) and you get the correct time for Fort Worth, TX. Of course you substitute the major city of your choice.
9. Track flight status – Try “AA 197″ (again no quotes). Any US airline don’t know about international. Just airline and flight number.
Other tips are:
8. Convert currency, metrics, bytes, and more
7. Compare items with “better than” and find similar items with “reminds me of”
6. Use Google as a free proxy
5. Remove affiliate links from product searches
4. Find related terms and documents
3. Find music and comic books
2. ID people, objects, and foreign language words and phrases with Google Image
1. Make Google recognize faces

BTW – David is planning on doing a Final Cut Pro podcast. So watch for it.
