QuicKeys X3
I used to really depend on Quickeys to increase my productivity. Back in Mac Classic days I used Quickeys to take a text file from a mainframe and move it to an Excel file. It activated an Excel macro. On the Mac Plus I was using at the time it was a 5 hour process. But at least I didn't have to sit there the whole time.
QuicKeys X
QuicKeys X was the first automation utility specifically designed for Mac OS X. It takes the daily tasks that would normally require you five...six...twenty or more steps and turns them into simple one step shortcuts. It can be used to automate anything the Mac does. (There is also a Windows version.)
The shortcuts can be written with a record feature and then edited, to make them a broader application. The shortcuts can be triggered with hot keys, timers, date & time, application events, time range, toolbars, USB device, and speech.
QuicKeys was originally sold by CE Software. But when it folded, some of the employees got together and decided to keep it going. I am glad they did.
Version 3.1 (for Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later) or What's New in QuicKeys X3 (for Mac OS X 10.3 through 10.3.8)
Other versions for earlier Mac OS systems are still available.
There is a user group program available here.
