Mac mouse last 18 years?

Long-time Mac pundit and user group friend Maria Langer posts this story about how well Macs work and last...

Actually, my brother sent this link in, saying "Fred, you should post this to your "This Old Mouse" column!

Maria's column reports on an actual situation encountered...

Maria says:

> The call came early this morning.
> It was Jo, at the radio station.
> 'I was working on invoices on my Mac,'
> she told me. 'And my mouse just died.
> Do you have a spare one?'
> Jo's Mac is a Mac IIci. We're talking a circa
> 1989 computer. She still uses it every day,
> with an Apple laser printer that's equally
> ancient ....

We have a similar story, still using a Max Mac, which was a clone introduced about the same time as the Mac IIvx. The IIci was introduced in 1989 and discontinued in 1993. In the 23 years I've been using Apple computers I've only had one mouse actually die beyond repair.

Thanks, Joe Showker, ITRT Rockingham County Schools, for sending this tip!

Fred
