I recently installed MS Office 2004 Update 11.3.7. Then it started getting flaky on me. It wouldn’t automatically recalculate. when I clicked on a cell to make it re-calc, most of the time it would hang. In fact I would get a hot processor warning.
After reading comments on MacUpdate’s listing for the update, I found out that I probably missed an earlier update. I certainly don’t recall doing all seven of them.
So I went back and downloaded all of the Office updater files and started one by one.
Updaters through 11.3.2 included the previous updates, but 11.3.3 and newer said that the previous update needed to be installed. I think I had skipped some of them. Now things are working properly. Fortunately, the file integrity was maintained.
