Universal Music Drops The Other Shoe
Universal has been working with Apple on a day by day, case by case basis.
Now they have agreed to offer DRM-free songs... on Rhapsody.
RealNetworks owns Rhapsody. Universal is the world's largest music label and it said Friday that it will test a program for selling music without digital-rights management over the next six months. They are also offering their music on Best Buy.co, Wal-Mart.com, Amazon and Google.
