Numbers & AppleWorks

eWeek has an article about how Numbers is creating buzz about iWork '08. It includes some interesting information that I have not seen discussed else where.

The article points out that previous to the iWork '08 announcement, sales of iWork were moderate at best. But have been fairly robust since the announcement.

While Numbers is aimed at the home users, they also mention a small company that has replaced Excel with it. That office does admit that they are disappointed that Numbers does NOT support AppleScripting.

The other complaint is concerning data interchange capabilities which are basically non-existant.

The article also claimed that Apple confirmed that it has marked with "end of life" status. However, iWork can open AppleWorks word processing, spreadsheet and presentation documents.
