Apple beats Microsoft
This Computer World article actually appears to make sense. They point out that Apple has beat Microsoft at getting the Open XML format for Excel ported to the Mac.
This happened in iWork '09's Numbers application. Microsoft hasn't even been able to get a translator so that Mac's Office 2004 can open Window's Office 2007's Excel files.
It is amazing that Microsoft is so far behind even after dropping VBA from the new Mac version.
BTW - a 30 day demo version of iWork '08 is availablehere. It really isn't easy to find on Apple's web site without this link.
