Want to find a widget to do a specific job on your desktop?
Here is a place to go to look, and it isn't limited to MacOS X Dashboard or Vista Sidebar widgets. It appears to have them all.
First it does have widgets for those as well as for Linux systems. But it also has Yahoo (formerly Konfabulator), Google Desktop, Opera, DesktopX (Windows), Klipfolio (Windows), Standalone (Windows) and Samurize (Windows). Also there are categories for specific web sites that they call web widgets. These are for Blogger, Facebook, MySpace etc.
They have really made an effort to build a community, with tutorials, dorums and RRS feeds. As well as providing heavy support for the developers
